Clampdown take 2.  Messed up the first glue up joint, made some adjustments and a jig for planing the surfaces down to a proper 13 degree angle. Wide router base to sit on the angled panels of wood (cut at 13 degrees) allows the router to travel at an even distance across the wood, giving a pretty clean surface for gluing.

Fingerboard and truss rod up next.

This will allow me to use a router with an oversized base to plane the neck cuts to an accurate 13 degree angle. My first try at the neck got ruined, so I made this to avoid the mistake I made the first time.

Came in to the shop to find I got my own labeled work bench! And the gutbuster takes shape.

It’s been a while. I’ve signed up for a wood shop co-op on the west side of Buffalo. Finishing up the facemelter prototype with some final fret work, as well as a new nut and bridge. This new build will be my first from scratch, based on the epiphone wilshire model. I scrounged up some scrap wood to make the body blank and plan to get a cuttin and sawin this weekend. Stay tuned. Also, I’m trying to decide on a name for my guitars. In the running so far are Jameson, and Jammeister. Maybe Captain Guitars. Not sure.
